Speake reaches 1000-point career mark in win

HAMPTON – So many things were fitting for Hampton-Dumont senior guard Jessica Speake earning her 1000th career point on Friday night.
First and foremost, it came in a 74-28 win against rival Fort Dodge St. Edmond, a team that has battled the Bulldogs for North Central Conference prowess throughout her career.
“It was definitely good after losing to them at home last year,” Speake said, “and then coming back and beating them like we did, it was awesome. And the 1,000 points, I just have a great crowd and a great team that has always supported me and I just kept playing..."
