It's been an exciting year for La Luz Hispana. The community center for Hampton's Hispanic population will be celebrating their one year anniversary in May with an open house of music, food, and games.

Sponsored by the Sisters of the Presentation in Dubuque and managed by Sister Carmen Hernandez and Sister Maura McCarthy, La Luz Hispana provides Hampton's Hispanic community with a place of their own for activities both educational and recreational.

"Every day there's someone coming in," says Sister Hernandez. "La Luz Hispana provides a safe environment for them to come together."

"We are so glad that the Hispanic community has a center of its own," says Margarita Rincon, who frequents the center's services. "We are very glad of all the activities here."
