Soybeans returning high yields for area farmers

Fields throughout Franklin County were buzzing with activity last week as local farmers rushed to take advantage of favorable harvest conditions.
     Early figures have indicated a good soybean crop throughout the region. Many local grain elevators reported yield averages around 60 bushels an acre and up, which was higher than anticipated.
     “That’s pretty rare,” said Tanner Bohman, crop specialist at AgVantage FS. “Beans are going full force right now. A lot of people are saying they haven’t seen beans this good in a long time.”
