HAMPTON – Rated fourth in the final Iowa Girls’ High School Athletic Union poll in Class 2A, Fort Dodge St. Edmond’s softball team came to Hampton on Thursday, July 3 with an unbeaten conference record.

With one big inning, all of that changed.

The Bulldogs strung together all three of their hits, combining that with a pair of rare Gael errors to score three runs in the bottom of the third, nearly a fourth, and held on for a 3-2 North Central Conference victory.
