LATIMER – With only 12 players and playing just the 11 minimum, the CAL/H-D/B-K girls soccer team lost by the 10-goal mercy rule on Friday, May 5 at home.
More than a half dozen of the team members were gone to the state large group (vocal) contest that day and more than a few who usually do not play varsity were forced into action.
One of the back-up players, goalkeeper Marisol Amador, was injured with 35:20 left in the second half and the Cadets already trailing 9-0.
The entire story appears in the May 10 print and online editions of the Hampton Chronicle.
