After decades of service to the Sheffield community, the Sheffield Inn has closed and is for sale. However, another local business is poised to fill in the gap in the restaurant’s absence.

“We are very sad to close the Sheffield Inn,” said owner Charles Sukup in a statement. “We have had many dedicated employees over the years and appreciate their hard work and dedication. The Sheffield Inn has been an institution in Sheffield for over 40 years and we deeply appreciate the patronage of the members of the community.”

With the closure of the Sheffield Inn, Ridge Stone Clubhouse, also partially owned by the Sukup family, is positioning itself to fill the gap of lunchtime offerings in Sheffield. Starting Jan. 13, the clubhouse will be open from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. Some of the former Sheffield Inn employees will be brought on to the clubhouse staff for the expanded open hours.
