The Franklin County community welcomed professional vocalists Cassandra Douglas and Brian Major this weekend to perform in the seventh annual Young Performing Artist & Scholarship Benefit Concert.
Presented by the Franklin County Arts Council and The Simon Estes Foundation, the concert gave Franklin County vocal students the opportunity to work with and perform with the professional artists.
Douglas, a soprano, hails from New York City and has a Masters degree from the Manhattan School of Music. She will be traveling to Italy next summer to perform the role of Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro.
Major, a baritone currently working in Michigan, has a Masters degree from Boston University and has previously performed in Iowa with the Des Moines Symphony Orchestra.
