Freshman U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst visited the area last week as part of her inaugural recess tour of the state. Back in Iowa after her first 90 days in Congress, Ernst visited Sukup Manufacturing on Wednesday to talk with employees about her activities in Congress and take a tour of the factory.
“I think she’s great, I really do,” said Sukup Manufacturing owner Eugene Sukup. “I think she’s good for Iowa.”
“The first 90 days have been tremendous,” said Ernst. “It’s been a great opportunity to work for Iowa.”
Speaking on the federal budget, Ernst said that she and her fellow Senate Republicans are working side-by-side with Democrats and taking turns making amendments in an attempt to create a bill both sides can agree on.
