Salina Enslin, 92

Salina Enslin, 92, of Ackley, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton. Funeral services were held at 10:30 AM Saturday, January 9, 2021 at the St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, rural Geneva. She was laid to rest at the St. Peter’s Cemetery. Woodley Funeral Home, LLC of Iowa Falls is caring for Salina and her family.

 

Salina Doriene (Snittjer) Enslin was born December 4, 1928 on the family farm to John and Rose (Noordman) Snittjer. On November 30, 1946 she was united in marriage to John Ernst Enslin at the St. John’s United Church of Christ in Ackley, Iowa. Salina was a homemaker for over seventy-three years.

 

Salina was a wonderful woman who always put others before herself. She worked hard at raising a beautiful family with her loving husband of seventy years by her side. Salina and her husband, John, were active members in their church, participating in the council and cemetery association. She spent many hours attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s multiple activities, including sporting events. Salina was immensely proud of her family. She enjoyed all the family gatherings of birthdays and holidays, which was always a houseful. Salina’s family was the twinkle in her eye.

 

Salina Enslin is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Dr. Keith) Hansen of Hampton, Iowa; two sons, Kenneth (Kathy) Enslin of Ackley, Iowa and Paul (Marcia) Enslin of Ackley, Iowa; grandchildren: Brian (Jennifer) Hansen, Kristin (Isreal) Noelck, Brent (Robyn) Hansen, Kari (Brock) Chaplin, Lindsey (Joe) Klunder, John Enslin, Matthew Gilbert, Courtney (Brandon) Medlin, Ross Enslin and Kelsey Enslin; great-grandchildren: Ashlyn, Kaitlyn, and Braden Hansen, Isaiah, Noah and Isabella Noelck, Katelyn and Karli Hansen, Kinlee, Kambri, Kelanie and Kemerson Chaplin, Elizabeth and Jake Klunder and Jaxton Medlin; and other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband and parents; son, Johnnie, in infancy; sister, Margaret Muller; daughter-in-law, Jill Enslin; sisters-in-law, Esther Burkley and Marie Arends and brothers-in-law: Arthur Burkley, Elwin Arends, and Harvey Muller.
