Runner-up finishes highlight Wartburg Indoor for H-D track teams

WAVERLY – Right away, Hampton-Dumont’s track teams showed they had some firepower at the Wartburg Indoor held on Tuesday, March 17 at Waverly.
Sophomores Cassy Miller and Nadilee Eiklenborg came out of one of the first running events – the 55-meter hurdle preliminaries – and qualified for the finals.
That led to the first runner-up finish of the day as Miller took second behind Class 1A state champion Mallory Vawter of BCLUW in the 100 hurdles, clocking in at 9.76 seconds. Eiklenborg improved on her preliminary time to finish sixth in 10.02.
“We really used this meet to play around and experiment with events for a lot of the girls,” girls’ coach Nicole Donnenworth said....
