Addressing concerns about a skilled worker shortage, Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds advocated increasing workforce recruitment efforts to retain young Iowa talent during a visit to Hampton July 28.
Reynolds stopped at Omnium Land O’Lakes as part of her annual 99-county tour. She met with local economic development officials and discussed various issues impacting businesses in Franklin County. The majority of discussion centered on current programs aimed at bolstering the state’s workforce, but the group also addressed other barriers affecting growth in rural communities across the state.
“Iowa is a great place to live, it’s a great place to raise a family, and on top of all that we have great jobs waiting for people,” Reynolds said. “We really want young Iowans to realize the job market potential and get them to stay.”
