Rand trial moved to Mitchell County

     The trial of Ronald Lee Rand, 61, of Hampton, has been moved to Mitchell County following a request from the defendant for a change of venue. Rand has been charged with First Degree Murder following the death of his girlfriend, Michelle Key, 51, of Waterloo, after an apparent domestic dispute on Dec. 13, 2015.
     The motion for a change of venue was made on June 17 and granted on July 15.
