Big changes are on the way for Rainbow Feed & Garden.
Owned by the Westhoff family, the feed and garden business has serviced Hampton for 13 years, but the future of the store is unknown as the Westhoffs prepare to close a deal with Kwik Star to sell the property for the development of a new gas station. Anticipating that the deal will be closed by the end of September, the Westhoffs are still trying to determine what this will mean for Rainbow Feed & Garden.
"This is a good opportunity for us to rethink a few things," said Randy Westhoff. "We've got some options that we're looking into."
Selling the property doesn't have to mean closing down the store. One of the options being considered is moving the store south, where the Westhoffs still own a plot of land. Doing this would keep the store open, even if it means scaling back some of their products and services.
