CLEAR LAKE – Round two between North Central Conference nemeses Hampton-Dumont and Clear Lake was all it was billed to be – again.
But the Bulldogs didn’t make themselves nearly as comfortable ‘at home’ after a torrential downpour mid-afternoon forced the game from Hampton to Clear Lake in what turned out to be an epic 10-inning battle on Monday, July 6.
A pair of 10th inning errors proved costly and H-D’s rally fell short in the bottom half of an eventual 3-2 loss to the No. 5 Lions. It was the second one-run loss to them this season.
More on this story will be found in the July 15 print and online editions of the Hampton Chronicle.
