Post-season run ends for H-D

MANLY – In back-to-back seasons, the Hampton-Dumont baseball team ended its post-season run in the Class 2A district title game.
This year was more of a surprise to some as the Bulldogs entered the tournament with a sub-.500 record, but it was no shock to coach Matt Lokenvitz and his team.
But a fateful sixth inning in which Central Springs loaded the bases and H-D made a pitching change, only to see the Panthers score all three runs ended in a 5-2 final.
“I was talking with (assistant) coach (Mike) Holm and it will haunt me a little bit,” Lokenvitz said....
