No injuries in CAL bus accident

Six passengers and two drivers escaped serious injury Nov. 23 when a Hummer collided with a CAL school bus in rural Latimer.
Eugene Miller, 69, Latimer, was driving the bus headed south on Indigo Avenue at around 7:30 a.m., when he came to a complete stop at the intersection of 190th Street. According to CAL Superintendent Steve Lane, a blindspot prevented the bus driver from seeing an oncoming vehicle driven by Andrew Sutter, 39, Hampton, when he pulled out to continue south on Indigo.
Sutter’s 2007 Hummer collided with the front right corner of the school bus and pushed it into the east ditch. Lane said the impact jammed the bus’ door, which forced the six student passengers to exit from the rear.
