HAMPTON – Playing without senior forward Katie Brolsma for the second straight game, the Class 2A eighth-ranked Bulldogs had a shorter bench in a 53-36 loss to Class 1A No. 5 Fort Dodge St. Edmond on Tuesday, Jan. 21.

Brolsma, who is out with an inner ear infection until at least this week, usually starts for coach Chad Johnson’s squad and although she averages 1.7 points per game, her defense and ball handling was missed against the Gaels.

However, when the game started, it looked like H-D was going to do just fine.

The Bulldogs started out hot, taking a 9-0 lead and not allowing a St. Edmond basket until the 3 minute, 6 second mark in the first quarter.
