New park ranger takes over at Beeds Lake

He’s been on the job for less than a month, but new Beeds Lake park ranger Scott Doescher is already impressed with what he’s seen.
“I can tell this park is incredibly important to the community. I have never encountered anything quite like it,” he said. “I really look forward to working with people and hearing what they want.”
Doescher took the reigns at Beeds Lake on April 1 following Terry Manning’s retirement. Prior to accepting the position, he worked as a ranger at Lewis and Clark State Park in western Iowa for two years. He has more than two decades of combined experience working for county conservation departments and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
