My Happy Haven to host fundraising gala

My Happy Haven, together with its sponsors, would like to announce its first annual fundraising gala, The Chrysalis Ball, to take place on Saturday, Oct. 7 from 5-8 p.m., at the Best Western in Clear Lake.
My Happy Haven is a community based non-profit organization comprised of a board of directors and volunteers dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of women facing the fear and struggles of a cancer diagnosis. They do this by providing these women with a bedroom makeover, providing them with an environment in which to rest peacefully and heal from the effects of the cancer and its’ treatments.
The butterfly is part of the My Happy Haven logo because if you examine a butterfly according to the law of aerodynamics, it should not be able to fly, but the butterfly does not know that, so it flies. The event is named Chrysalis — a stage in the butterfly metamorphosis — the preparatory or transitional state. And since My Happy Haven is all about “reveals,” the title Chrysalis fit well.
