Mother Nature brings deluge; ends NCC game in knotted score

HAMPTON – No one likes a ball game to end in a tie.
But with a thunderstorm that broke out in the top of the sixth inning of Hampton-Dumont’s baseball game against Clarion-Goldfield-Dows that refused to let up, that is exactly what both teams have to settle with.
The Bulldogs had just tied the game in the sixth, and the Cowboys momentarily went ahead 7-6, but when the game was called the score reverted back to the start of the inning in which both teams were at a 6-all stalemate.
“It’s not been good for us the last week,” H-D coach Matt Lokenvitz said of the weather...
