Medals abound for Warhawks

DES MOINES – West Fork collected medals in nearly all facets of the Class 1A state track and field meet last week at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.
Distance runners Jake Hansen and Kenna Weaver each brought home a pair of medals in the 3,200/3,000 and 1,600/1,500 on Thursday and Saturday.
Lexi Jones took a four-way tie for third in the high jump and Austin Larson was seventh in a competitive field in the 110 hurdles among the highlights for the Warhawks.
For Hansen, it was redemption after limping his way through the 1,600 a year ago. He capped off his West Fork career with a sixth place finish in the event this year.
“It was better than last year, back in the pack limping around, not even close to contending,” Hansen said...
