A new member was appointed to the CAL Board of Education last week following the resignation of Todd Mensing.
Jacob McNutt, Alexander, took the oath of office Nov. 18 during the board’s special meeting. He replaces Mensing effective immediately and will serve the remaining two years left on his At-Large term, which expires in September 2017.
“I just want to thank you for the opportunity to serve my community and the kids,” McNutt told the board. “I think I’ll be a good fit for you guys. Hopefully I can live up to your expectations.”
According to Mensing’s letter of resignation, he had been debating the decision for some time. He believed his absences from meetings were a detriment to the board and felt CAL would benefit from a new member.
