Local resident Harry Terrill might tell you July 3 is just another ordinary day, but don’t let him fool you – he’s turning 100.

“I can handle it,” he said, referring to the two-day celebration planned in his honor.

Family members, friends and caretakers at the Dumont Wellness Center will gather for two separate parties marking the occasion July 3-4. The staff at the nursing home is bringing in a band and a big cake for Terrill’s birthday on Thursday, and his family will host an open house at the facility the following day.

The two-day rush would be enough to make anyone flustered, but Terrill was unfazed. He was just looking forward to the homemade ice cream on Friday.
