Locals welcome autumn during Fall Festival

Franklin County residents converged on the Harriman-Nielsen Historic Farm Sunday to pick pumpkins and enjoy other autumn traditions during Fall Festival.
     Cooperative weather and a bountiful harvest led to a great turnout at the annual event. Guests navigated the pumpkin patch, perused the vast selection of home-grown produce and enjoyed tasty treats throughout the afternoon. Though no official attendance total was available, organizers were confident Sunday’s event was another banner year.
     “It was a very successful day,” said Doreen Petersen, Harriman-Nielsen board member. “We’re always very appreciative of everyone who supports the event.”
