Locals discuss immigration policy at special Hampton forum

One of the most debated issues in America took center stage at the Windsor Theater Nov. 18 during a special forum on immigration policy reform.

     Filmmaker Aldo Bello led a panel discussion after showing his documentary, “DREAM: An American Story.” The film examines how federal immigration policy affects the hundreds of thousands of youth who migrated to the United States legally or illegally with their parents as children, but aren’t considered American citizens.

     The documentary focuses on the legal challenges these individuals face as they try to gain citizenship and acheive dreams like earning college degrees, owning a business and other everyday goals most citizens take for granted.
