Letter: An update from Mark Drier

Letter to the Editor

This is an open letter to the Editor and community in response to the article 'It was like a horror movie' in the May 13 Hampton Chronicle.

The Drier Family would like to take the opportunity to thank the law enforcement, first responders and medical professionals for the emergency care provided at our house on Sunday, March 3 around 6:30 p.m. Without the great coordination and professional-ism displayed by these organizations, the result of the accident could have had a vastly different outcome.

The 911 Dispatch Operator stayed on the phone line with my son until the on-duty Hampton Police officer arrived. The Hampton Police Officer provided first aid the best he could and then shortly after, the EMS team from Franklin General arrived. Unfortunately, I do not remember the specific names of the first responders involved, but I will never forget the attention, concern, and care they all provided.

The Drier Family would like to express their extreme gratitude and thankfulness to the first responders who came to our aid on Sunday March 3. In addition, the Drier Family would also like to thank the Hampton-Dumont and West Fork communities for their outreach and support.

The family would like to share that Mark is well on his way to a full and complete recovery. He could not be in this position without your help.
