Letter to the Editor

Hampton man thanks fair board for a job well done

Letter to the Editor:

Please accept this brief note as an item that has been on my bucket list for longer than it should have. The bucket list that I am referring to is writing a letter to the editor that would express my appreciation to the Franklin County Fair Board for the tremendous effort they put forward to provide one of the greatest county fairs in this strong agricultural nation.

My family and I have taken advantage of what the instution of the Franklin County Fair has had to offer for at least the last 40 years. I am convinced that over those years the collective group of past and present board members has had as one their main goals as being to provide activities that can be enjoyed by all ages. The only pay that the board members have received has been the smiles and enjoyment that they have helped create.

There are not many institutions that have the same goals as the Franklin County Fair. It takes a torch that can be passed on from one generation to another in order to maintain this institution’s goals.

Thank you to the Franklin County Fair Board members for taking the torch and for keeping it burning with the same light and heat of the past.
