Lack of common sense or logic
The City of Hampton and/or the elected officials need to start using common sense or logic when the citizens/taxpayers want to file a complaint against a business for negligence. I fail to see the common sense or logic behind that you have to be a customer of a company or business to file a complaint and if you are not a customer there is nothing that the City of Hampton and/or elected officials can do or WILL DO.
So let’s see how the common sense or logic of our elected officials and/or City of Hampton applies! I guess unless you have a fire you cannot raise a complaint against the fire department. Unless you are ticketed or picked up and charged you cannot raise a complaint against the police or sheriff’s department. Unless you are a customer of all three garbage companies allowed in the City of Hampton you cannot raise a complaint against them. I could go on and on with other examples but I have made my point. It is a privilege not a right to have a business in the City of Hampton and it is the right not privilege of the citizens/taxpayers of the City of Hampton to file a formal complaint!
The City of Hampton and/or elected officials common sense does not fly! They were elected by the citizens/taxpayers of the City of Hampton or hired to look out for the best interest of the citizens/taxpayers of Hampton period! A citizen/taxpayer has the right to file a complaint against a business if they, in good faith, believe the business is being negligent in their job. I know of nowhere in the Constitution, federal law, state law, county law, or city law does it state that a citizen/taxpayer must be a customer of a business to file a formal complaint for the City of Hampton and/or elected officials to check into and do something about it.
The City of Hampton and/or elected officials sure want the taxpayers’ money when they collect their paycheck every two weeks so they need to start earning it! They get paid to do a job and do it in its entirety, not as they wish or see fit to do! It has become personally apparent that elected officials run for office so they can push their personal agendas at the expense of the citizens/taxpayers instead of looking out for the citizens’/taxpayers’ best interest! Also Franklin County and/or City of Hampton and/or elected officials want to pay raises that are more than citizens/taxpayers ever receive or get so where do the citizens/taxpayers cut from their budget to pay for the increases?
