Learn more about the Rock Island Clean Line project

To the editor:

Rock Island Clean Line, LLC (RICL) is proposing to build a 600kV overhead high voltage direct current transmission line to carry electricity from Northwest Iowa to serve communities in Illinois and states to the east. The transmission line will go through 375 miles across Iowa, which includes farmland in Wright, Franklin, and Butler counties. RICL, a private company, will use eminent domain to obtain easement access to build the transmission towers.

If you are a landowner, tenant, or any concerned citizen please learn more about this project.  A community meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 17 at 7 p.m. at the Latimer Community Center (with a snow date of Thursday, December 19th). The “Preservation of Rural Iowa Alliance” will be at the meeting to share information.
