Letter to the Editor

Heyde denies statements
To the editor:
I find it amazing how some reporters can’t get the stories straight. Recently, the Chronicle had a story mentioning some of my comments to the Hampton City Council on July 14. There was something written about wanting certain guilty people killed. I did not say that. In fact I said exactly the opposite. It’s a good thing that city council meetings are recorded.
Perhaps certain people didn’t like what I said about Joel Vinson. On July 11, he pled guilty to sexual abuse in the third degree and was given a 10-year prison sentence. A charge of incest was dismissed. I wonder if the various local media outlets informed you that he used to be a city of Hampton policeman? If they did not, why didn’t they? The alleged incest took place in Hampton. If he did commit incest, I wonder what other crimes he might have done?
