Latimer residents gathered to brainstorm ideas on future downtown development during a special meeting held last Thursday at the golf course.
The meeting focused on the former Corner Market building, which was recently purchased by Landon and Anne Plagge. The couple plans to donate the property to Latimer Development so the group can demolish the store and market the vacant lot to potential businesses. The building was recently deemed structurally unsound and is too costly to fix, according to an inspector.
“They didn’t have anything nice to say about it,” said Landon Plagge. “It would be nice to do something with it, but it’s been run down and run down with little to no work done on it.”
