HAMPTON – Rebounding wasn’t there and the forced turnovers weren’t happening for Hampton-Dumont’s newly-No. 10-ranked (Class 3A) girls basketball team.

But it all came together in the nick of time against Algona in H-D’s regular-season finale as coach Chad Johnson’s squad rallied by the visitors, 42-36, on Thursday, Feb. 13.

Celebrating a senior night victory were Lexi Sorenson, Paige Wragge and Katie Brolsma, who all started the contest.

“I thought we struggled passing the ball in the first three quarters,” Johnson said, “but in the fourth quarter we really defensively got after them and got some steals and got on the fast break and I thought that was very key tonight.”
