Lashbrook gains third, seeks more

DES MOINES — Trey Lashbrook outlasted Interstate-35’s Casey Baker for an 8-7 decision in the consolation championship match of the Class 1A state wrestling tournament on Saturday, Feb. 16.
Lashbrook, a sophomore two-time place winner for AGWSR, kept a calm demeanor throughout the tournament, reaching the semifinal against now three-time state champion and undefeated Adam Allard of West Sioux, which sent him to Saturday morning’s consolation.
“I had to stay focused,” Lashbrook said. “I knew there was work to be done and I just tried to stay focused, rested and ready for every match.”
