La Luz Hispana on Saturday hosted an informative discussion about the ins-and-outs of immigration in the United States.
American Friends Service Committee (AFSC), a faith-based organization that aims to promote equality and justice, stopped in Hampton to present Immigration 202.
“It was intended to be an informational event, not necessarily political, to give information about what is the immigration system in the U.S.,” said Aimee Hanson, La Luz Associate Director.
“There tends to be a lot of rhetoric when we talk about immigration that a lot of us need to take a step back and say before we can talk about changes that need to happen, what is the system currently. “So Saturday was a time to really share a lot of that basic information about what is the system like,” she added.
