La Luz Hispana has found its new executive director.
Claudia Rivera, of Waterloo, will assume the position from Sister Carmen Hernandez, who was recently selected for the role of President of the Sisters of Presentation of Dubuque.
Rivera, who most recently worked as a crisis intervention specialist with a focus on human trafficking in a seven county region, began her service with La Luz on Monday.
Prior to her work in crisis intervention, she was a diversity services coordinator for the Waterloo Public Library, where she helped grow participation in the Latino community at the library.
