Kick, punt return aid GHV win over Bulldogs

HAMPTON – A pair of special team touchdowns for Garner-Hayfield-Ventura provided the difference in Hampton-Dumont’s 35-20 homecoming loss on Friday, Sept. 22.
Before Hampton-Dumont could fully protest its point-after attempt that was ruled wide left, GHV was off to the races on a Jace Pringnitz 86-yard kickoff return that gave the Cardinals the lead for good in the third quarter.
The Bulldogs nearly answered with a kick return of its own, but Dustin Miller was stopped short on the 17-yard line following a return of 75 and it appeared imminent H-D had a chance to tie it up.
However, two plays later the Bulldogs fumbled near their own goal line.
“We gave up two special teams...we’d been decent on our special teams this year,” H-D coach Dan Aalbers said...
