FORT DODGE – Eighth-grade pitching sensation Kendra Cooper of Kee kept AGWSR off-balance in the Class 1A state semifinal, resulting in sending the Cougars back to the consolation championship game for the second year in a row.

Cooper struck out five over the first four innings and didn’t gave up only five hits – two by Morgan Rose to lead the Hawks to a 3-1 win on Thursday, July 24.

The Cougars did have their share of chances against Cooper and Kee, the biggest of which came in the final inning, but couldn’t get that breakthrough in the end.
