Jerry Dean Wells

Jerry Dean Wells, 77, of Mason City, passed away June 20, 2025, from complications related to Alzheimer’s Disease.  A private inurnment will be held at a later date. Woodley Funeral Home and Crematory is entrusted with care for Jerry and his family. 

Jerry Dean Wells was born March 18, 1948, to Paul Seldom Wells and Lola Belle Wells in Springfield, Minnesota. He graduated from High School in Lamberton, Minnesota. On June 14, 1975, he was united in marriage with Karen Fresk at the Lutheran Church in Andover, Minnesota. Together, they shared 50 years of love and devotion.

A man of deep faith, Jerry was a loving and devoted Christian. He was also a proud self-made businessman and talented cabinet maker, known for his craftmanship that graced homes throughout the Midwest. Over the years Jerry held several roles with companies including: Stromberg Time Clocks, Motorola, Functional Industries and the Wright County Courthouse, in Buffalo, Minnesota

Outside of work, Jerry found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He spent many cherished hours boating on the Mississippi River in his beloved C-Dory and enjoying time at his river home, which he owned for 40 years. After retirement, he and Karen enjoyed spending their winters in Texas and Florida. Above all, Jerry treasured time with his family and created countless beautiful memories with them.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife: Karen; daughter: Samantha (Joe) Guerrero, Hampton; son: Jerry D. Wells II, St. Petersburg, FL; grandchildren: Amada Clarke; Kyle (Jessica) Clarke; Taylor Clarke; Merecedes Hershey-Guerrero; Exiquia (Darin) Lemke; Gabriel Guerrero; Tyler Wells; Thomas Wells; 8 great grandchildren; sister: Dawn (Rob) Youngblood, Bloomington, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Lola Wells; brothers Robert and Kevin Wells; and sister Doris Stahl.
