Janet Siems

Janet Siems, 86, of Hampton, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2025, at the Hampton Seventh-Day Adventist Church, formerly the First Christian Church, in Hampton. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the start of  the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to give a gift to your favorite charity or one of Janet’s favorites, DAV or the Wounded Warrior Project. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Sietsema-Atkinson Funeral Home in Hampton. 

Janet was born March 25, 1939 in Hampton, Iowa to George and Avis (Pink) Berlin. Janet graduated from Hampton in 1957. She was united in marriage to Dareld Siems June 15, 1958.

Janet was a member of the Franklin General Hospital Board of Trustees and the Hospital Auxilary for many years. She enjoyed needlework, floral arranging, reading and traveling. Her travels included South Africa, Wales, England, Scotland, Ireland, Netherlands, Australia and other countries. She was active with AFS Intercultural Programs at the local, regional and AFS-USA levels. She was a member of the First Christian Church and served in many positions on the board and as an Elder.

Janet is survived by her daughter Dianne Christians, Iowa Falls, daughter Brenda (Warner) Beckmann, Lake Crystal MN. Grandchildren Devon (Chris Stober) Christians, Dan (Carolynn Duvall) Christians, Elizabeth Beckmann, Emily Beckmann, Nolan (Andrea) Beckmann and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Milton “Buck” Berlin, and son-in-law Don Christians.
