Improvements coming to Rolling Prairie Trail

Renovations to a pair of bridges on the Rolling Prairie Trail will be completed this summer following an extended delay.
     The Franklin County Conservation Board awarded a construction contract to Peterson Contractors for $213,000 during its April 13 meeting. Original bids for the project had been sought much earlier, but initial estimates came back high. The development forced the conservation board to delay renovations and rebid the project this winter.
     According to Franklin County Conservation Director Jason Gooder, work on the two bridges is hoped to begin by July and wrap up within a month.
