Hitting a slump: Bulldogs baseball shut out by Humboldt

HAMPTON – Ever since Hampton-Dumont’s baseball team reached the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association rankings, the Bulldogs have cooled off considerably.
Part of that is the competition H-D is facing is taking coach Matt Lokenvitz’s team more seriously, throwing their aces at the Bulldogs.
The results after going 10-0 to start the season is a 4-5 stretch in which H-D has been shut out twice and scored only one run in two more games.
