Former Hampton doctor Brian J. Hansen was dismissed on Jan. 14 from a federal job discrimination lawsuit filed by former Franklin General Hospital employee Nicole Whitney.

Six other defendants – Franklin General Hospital (FGH); Franklin County, Iowa; Mercy Health Services – Iowa, Corp.; Mercy Health Network, Inc.; FGH human resources manager Victoria Kruse; and hospital CEO Kim Price – remained named in the complaint. The lawsuit, filed on Aug. 29, 2013, contends a long list of allegations that precluded Whitney’s termination as a medical records clerk and receptionist at the hospital in December 2012.

According to court documents filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Iowa Central Division, Hansen was dismissed based on statutes defined in Local Rule 41.
