A gazebo near the Rolling Prairie Trail received a literal spruce up for Earth Day.
The Hampton Tree Board on Monday, Earth Day, planted six trees at the gazebo on Nettle Avenue, south of Beeds Lake State Park. The trees included two swamp white oaks, one red oak, one hackberry and two Norway spruces.
Randy Sanders, tree board member, said the planting was part of a Hampton Tree Board annual tradition.
“Every year for Earth Day, the tree board tries to do our own, nice project,” he said.
