The Hampton Fire Department was dispatched to their fourth fire in eight days early last Wednesday morning when they responded to a blaze in the north part of town along Highway 65.

Firefighters arrived just after 7 a.m. at a shed owned by Bob Ubben of Hampton. According to fire Chief Kent Wilkinson, smoke could be seen coming from the back of the structure, but no flames were visible from the outside. However, the fire poked through as the department was setting up equipment.

“There was only one entrance door, but we got better access when the roof opened up,” said Wilkinson. “It was a little bit tough.”
