A new fundraising blitz for the Hampton Public Library hopes to raise $50,000 for repairs to the historic building’s curved brick wall.

The campaign started on Nov. 1 and ends December 20. Last winter, a bulge was discovered in the building’s curved brick wall that put the brakes on other improvement projects at the library. Officials had planned to build a new courtyard and parking lot on the east side of the library, but those projects can’t start until the wall is fixed.

“Everything just kind of came together on top of itself at the same time,” said library board of trustees President Linda Kuehner. “We think the $50,000 is achievable and won’t drag out. We think it’s feasible.”
