The Hampton Fire Department is hoping to sell one of it’s more historic items to clear up storage space and raise a little extra cash for new equipment.

The department recently placed their 1967 Plymouth Fury Wagon for sale on the Internet auction web site ebay.com. The 47-year-old car is in good condition and has been with the department since 1996, but a lack of space forced firefighters to put it up for sale.

“We decided probably two months ago, because it’s just taking up space in the fire department. We just don’t have the storage for it,” said Fire Chief Kent Wilkinson.
