The Hampton-Dumont-CAL Class of 2019 may have officially graduated Sunday, but they didn’t leave until they received one last lesson.
Acting as this year’s speaker, H-D-CAL High School science and biology teacher Stephanie Maske said she had one last piece of educational information to pass on. She described the various systems in the body, such as respiratory and digestive, and how each one will help a student succeed and overcome challenges past high school.
“My last lesson to you will explain how the human body will support you through your life’s challenges,” she said. “The human body has 11 organ systems that work together so the body can survive.”
The nervous system, she said, gives students the skills to take information and turn it into tools that allow them to achieve their goals while the skeletal system provides sup-port - much like the system of support students received from faculty and staff at H-D-CAL. The muscular system, she said, is what gives students the strength to persevere.
