Hampton council continues street work plans

The Hampton City Council discussed fire trucks, streets, and storage units during their workshop meeting on Monday, Aug. 22.
The meeting began with Tom Madden of SEH going over a series of change orders for the waste water treatment facility project. The change orders account for work done on the project that happened outside the scope of the original plans, sometimes due to changing circumstances or simple oversights. The cost of the change orders comes to about 2.5 percent of the project's total cost, which amounts to half of the city's contingency budget.
This is the second series of change orders that have been brought to the council and while there will be some additional expenses before the project is complete, Madden expressed confidence that the city will stay under their five percent contingency.
