Hampton Council adopts plans for 2017 HMA Overlay project

The Hampton Council adopted plans, specifications and estimates for its 2017 HMA Street Overlay Improvements Project.
The DOLLAR AMOUNT project will consist of 15 blocks of asphalt overlay, as well as 16 colored-crosswalks.
The process for construction will involve milling asphalt currently paved on the roads, and placing a two-inch asphalt surface, with minor adjustments to existing manholes, sidewalk removal, curb and gutter removal and replacement and sidewalk construction. The project will also include alternate projects that will involve overlaying the Harriman Park loop, or chip sealing the park loop.
Public Works Director Doug Tarr said that the alternate bids are extras to the 2017 HMA Overlay project, and are included due to the possibility of getting the projects done cheaper, than done at a separate time.
