Hampton City Council takes care of lots of end of year items, issues

The Hampton City Council had a busy week, holding both a workshop meeting and regular meeting, both of which were among the longest meetings the council has had this year.

     On Thursday, the council met for their regular meeting and unanimously passed numerous items on the agenda and also heard discussion about noisy street sweepers and the city's disaster mitigation plans.

     One of the more important items on the agenda was the submittal of the final plans, specifications, and construction permit for the city's new wastewater treatment plant to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
